Good Afternoon on this hot June day from sunny Myrtle Beach. We are on the verge of the summer rental season kicking into high gear. As stated in previous blogs, Booe Realty has been serving the Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand area in vacation rentals, annual rentals, and sales since 1971. Now that the Month of May and all of the crazy media storms that came with it is over, lets now focus our much needed attention on the upcoming Summer months where many of us make our living. The month of May started off with a barrage of media stories centered around the upcoming Harley Davidson and Atlantic Beach Bike Weeks. As stated, all of us here at Booe Realty welcomed these bikers and their families with open arms. We encouraged all of them to visit our beach and they did, just not in the numbers we had hoped for. It seems that our city government accomplished what they set out to do, and that was to drive them away. We now have a full year to revisit these issues and hopefully welcome them back next year...hopefully.

Now for the upcoming summer events. Myrtle Beach has much to offer year around. We are getting ready to have the annual Sun Fun Festival which offers many fun-filled events for all ages. The summer season brings hundreds of thousands of tourists to our beaches each year. Although the economic situation of our country is in poor health, many tourists are flocking to the beach for that well-needed and deserved vacation. Greetings from sunny Myrtle Beach. All is well here. We have had a cold winter season (at least for us). Things should start warming up from here and those long dog days of summer will among us. In this Blog, I would like to continue on the issue of the Myrtle Beach Bike Weeks. It has become increasing apparent that this event will be one to remember, especially this year. New laws have been enacted and are being enforced. These laws include noise allowance, mandatory helmets, and curfews for certain age groups. Please visit the city's website that lists all of these new laws and please obey them when you are here. Many bikers do not feel they are welcome here at the beach. I would like to reiterate that Booe Realty's welcome mat is out and we look forward to having all of the bikers back this year. We have been monitoring many biker website and have seen the what forums are saying. Many local businesses are starting to join these forms and express their views about these bikes weeks. I believe that if you are a biker and wondering if you should come to the beach, check out these replies from area businesses. You will see that you are welcome. I would like to mention something about the economy. Being in the vacation rental and sales business, we are dependent on our guests staying with us each year and possibly investing in real estate. Next time you are watching a TV news show, count how many stories are "negative" towards the economy. Although they are reporting news, why can't they report positive aspects about the economy thus giving us confidence to spend money, invest in the markets, and take vacations?? With all of the bad news that we hear every day with job losses, cut backs, rising gas prices, the sagging economy, etc. Why would anyone want to spend money anywhere? Everybody is scared. If the news media would stop spreading the bad news around and start introducing "good news", our economy just might start the long awaited rebound. I encourage you to write letters, emails, etc to spread this news and lets start looking and moving forward...not backwards!!

Greetings and Happy Holidays to all. Well it is that time of the year again. Christmas and Hanukkah are here and we are all preparing for that fun festive time. I hope that all readers are well, happy and healthy. Please remember the reason for the season.

All is well here in sunny Myrtle Beach. the temperature is still in the 70's, not a cloud in the sky and we are feeling great. We are preparing for the arrival of the winter snow birds (Winter Rentals). Each year, we have an influx of winter guests that arrive at the beach right after the holidays to take advantage of the weather, great rates, shopping, and empty beaches. What a great time to enjoy what Myrtle Beach as well as the surrounding areas have to offer. If you have not visited our website for our Winter specials, please do so. In these tough economic times that we are going through, we all must remember that we have a lot to be thankful for living in this great country. Election Day in Myrtle Beach

Today is November 4, 2008 and we all know what day it is...ELECTION DAY. Yes, today we will make history. A new President will be elected and from what the polls are saying, that man will be Barack Obama. Who ever gets elected, there is a strong desire for change, especially here in the South, in our economic state. The housing market is as low as it has been in many years. Our retirement portfolios are dwindling, and the our mental outlook for our future is dim. So yes, hopefully whoever gets elected will change all of this and put our great country back on track to becoming a leader again.

In regards to the future, I would like to say that we are excited about the upcoming year. I have just returned from a Vacation Rental Managers Association (VRMA) conference in Phoenix. I have brought back many ideas from this conference relating to the vacation rental business and what the vacationing guests are not only looking for but now expecting. Greetings to all. Today is October 16, 2008 here in sunny Myrtle Beach. Currently we are experiencing sunny weather and 85 degrees. From weather reports, it is becoming increasingly colder in the north. It is that time of the year again when vacationers from the north (we call them "snowbirds" start making their plans for the trip south for the winter.

As many might know, some Myrtle Beach locals and the local municipalities are waging a fight against the two bike rallies that occur yearly in the month of May. The Harley Davidson rally also has a fall rally in October, that just ended. The "negative" effect that the community is showing has already had an impact. The Fall harley rally was down, by some reports, as much as 25%. Booe Realty supports these rallies in that the income produced, along with the southern hospitality, is valuable to our business and welfare. We are encouraging bikers to book their vacations next Spring. Hopefully the city and county will have a reasonable resolution to this situation in that it will have lasting economic effects on many businesses in town.

As everyone can see, the economy is in a down turn. Some would say that it is spiraling. This economic down trun is affecting the Myrtle Beach Vacation Rental and Sales markets. In observance of this, Booe Realty is currently offering many specials for every Holiday between now and the end of the year. These specials offer free nights as well as free gifts. We realize that many families do not have expendable income for vacations, especially this time of the year, so we are offering small mini-vacations.
